Eleonora Atzeni graduated cum laude in Mechanical Engineering in July 2001 at the Politecnico di Torino, in 2004 was visiting student at IFU (Institute for Metal Forming Technology) in Stuttgart (Germany ), in 2005 she received her PhD in Industrial Production System Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. In 2002 she started working as Research Fellow and since 2005 as Researcher in Technologies and Manufacturing Systems at the Engineering Faculty of Politecnico di Torino, Department of Management and Productin Engineering
Since 2004 she teaches at Politecnico di Torino in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. Currently, she teaches for Mechanical Engineering courses including Manufacturing Technology (BS), Integrated Manufacturing Systems (MS), Innovative Production Systems(MS). In additition, she teaches PhD and Master courses. Since 2002 she has carried out research participating in University’s researches undertaken during international and national projects, as well as research for third parties.
The main research themes are those related to Time Compression technologies and Finite Element numerical modeling of production processes. The main field of activity is related to Additive Manufacturing (AM): evaluation of mechanical and dimensional performances of additive parts, Design for additive manufacturing integrated with economic aspects, application of additive manufacturing techniques. In parallel, she has conducted other activities related to technological and mechanical characterization of materials, both traditional and innovative, and the study of correlations between process parameters and the microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of the components produced. These studies were conducted with both experimental instruments (DoE) that with the aid of numerical models.
In the field of the above described study and research, she has participated in and spoken at numerous congresses and study meetings. She is the author of more than 30 scientific publications. She is reviewer for international journals.
You will meet Eleonora in Turin, during our visit to the Politecnico Additive Manufacturing Lab where she will introduce you the tools and the techniques for an effective and efficient 3D printing.
